How to Customize a Website Built From Your Google Maps Listing

October 28, 2026 · 7 min read

When a tool builds your site from your Google Maps listing, the first version is a strong draft. Here is how to make it look and read like your business using blocks, without starting over or touching code.

Start from a draft, not a blank page

The hardest part of a website is the empty page. Building from your Google Maps listing means the headline, “why customers choose you”, quotes, hours and map are already there, written from what real customers say. Customizing is then editing, which takes minutes. If you are comparing tools, this comparison shows what each one imports.

Think in blocks

In Studio your page is a stack of blocks. Sections are the big parts: Hero, Why customers choose you, Popular items, Gallery, Customer quotes, Customer tips, About, FAQ, Good to know, Visit, Map and booking forms. Tiles are the small buttons: Call, WhatsApp, Directions, Order, Hours, Offer, Text, Link and Instagram.

Each block can be switched on or off, moved up or down and edited. Sections appear once; you can add forms up to three.

A good order for most local businesses

  1. Hero: what you do and where, in one line.
  2. The main action first: Call, Directions or Order.
  3. Why customers choose you.
  4. Popular items or services, with photos.
  5. Customer quotes.
  6. FAQ, then Visit and Map.

Put what a visitor on a phone needs most nearest the top. For the full list of what a local site needs, use the checklist.

Make it look like you

  • Colour. Pick your logo’s main colour as the accent.
  • Fonts. Choose a pairing that matches your style: classic, modern or friendly.
  • Corners and background. Sharp or round, light, paper or dark.
  • Photos. Replace any image with one of your own, and choose which ones appear in the gallery.

Preview, publish, and go back if needed

Your edits are a draft until you publish. Use the preview to check the phone view first, since that is where most of your visitors are. If you do not like where you ended up, reset to the original layout.

Where to find it

Build your free site from your Google Maps link, then open Studio in the dashboard. Studio is part of Pro, which starts with a free trial.

Questions people actually ask

Can I edit a website that was generated from my Google Maps listing?

Yes. In blasa, Pro includes Studio, where the page is made of blocks you can add, hide, reorder and edit: text, photos, buttons, colours and fonts. Free sites stay as generated.

What is a block?

A block is one section or button of your page, such as the headline, popular items, gallery, customer quotes, FAQ, opening hours, a call button or a WhatsApp button. You choose which blocks appear and in what order.

Will my edits disappear when the site updates?

Your Studio changes are saved as a draft and go live when you press publish. You can preview before publishing and reset to the original layout whenever you like.

Can I change colours and fonts?

Yes. Studio lets you change the accent colour, the font pairing, how rounded the corners are and whether the page background is light, paper or dark.

Do I need design skills?

No. You start from a finished page and change one thing at a time, with a live preview. If you do not like a change, undo it or reset the layout.
